Showcase Creator Documentation
User's manualIntroduction & Features
In short, with this plugin you can:
- create showcases of posts.
- create custom layouts for them.
- create manually ordered lists of posts.
A showcase:
The main use of the Showcase Creator plugin is to make it easy to display multiple posts and other content types on a single page, to view and navigate to the full content of the posts.
The Showcase block:
For this purpose, we introduce the Showcase block with which you can display the posts of your choice in any page. When you add it to a page, you need to select a Layout and set the filters to show the desired posts. For example, you can filter posts in a certain category, or with a certain tag, or by a certain author. Filters allow quite a bit of flexibility. Read the Showcase block section for more information.
A Layout:
Another major part of this plugin is Layouts. Their task is to display each and every post from the showcase in a beautiful and practical way. Through the Layout Builder you can create your own layouts or edit existing ones. There are two main things in any layout: structure and style. The structure represents the post elements such as title, author, date, featured image, etc. Styling is how it all looks and is done with CSS. Don’t worry if you’re not that familiar with CSS, there are ready-made layouts that you can edit a bit to suit your needs. Read the Layout Builder section for more information on how to use it.
The Layout Library:
There is also a Layout Library where you can search for layouts, or you can also contribute by uploading your own layout.
Ordered Lists:
If sorting by date, title, etc. doesn’t satisfy you, the plugin provides an even more customized arrangement – you can create Ordered Lists to manually sort posts. Read the Ordered Lists section for information on how to use them.
Another notable feature of the plugin is the integration of Layout for displaying search results as well as category view or author pages. See Integration in the Settings section and More tab in the Showcase block section for information on how to do that.
