Settings

Plugin settings are accessible from the Showcase Creator admin menu. The available settings are divided into the following sections:

Administration

Who has access?

If you want to give access to a group with lower privileges, you can set this option to Editor or Author. Be careful with this option, as it will grant access to the plugin’s features to the relevant user group. They will be able to create, edit, delete Layouts, use the Showcase block, and create and manage Ordered Lists. The plugin settings, however, will remain accessible only to administrators.

Admin menu position

Set the position of the plugin admin menu item. The position is represented by a number – a lower number means higher in the menu and conversely, a higher number means lower in the menu. Here are the positions of some default menu items: Posts5, Pages20, Appearance60, Settings80.

Collapse admin menu when in Layout Builder

It is on by default and will make the Layout Builder workspace wider by shrinking the admin menu.

Integration

Integration refers to displaying posts from the default WP queries by using Showcase Creator layouts. The integration templates are very basic – they display the header, the post query and the footer. If you want a more customizable template and you’re using a block theme, you can put a Showcase block pattern in the corresponding template. The template must have the Use default query setting turned on. More on this in the Showcase block section.

  • Search
    • If you want to show search results using one of the layouts you can specify that layout.
  • Taxonomies
    • Specify a layout to show category, tag or custom term pages.
  • Date query

  • Author pages
    • Specify a layout to author pages.
  • Layout query variable
    • When not empty, will create a query variable for the layouts. This way you can access a layout via URL.

Layouts can use Lighbox to show an image or a gallery (image loop). Here you can set some options for the style of the Lightbox:

  • Light color
    • The color used for elements that contrast with the background.
  • Dark color
